What is PowerSchool?
PowerSchool is a web-based tool that enhances communication between parents, teachers and students by providing access to student information from home, work, or from any remote location with Internet access. Parents can view:

  • School news
  • Student schedules
  • Attendance data
  • Homework assignments
  • Report cards and progress report

What is the difference between PowerSchool and ParentConnection? Will my ParentConnection login work with PowerSchool?

ParentConnection is a web-portal application associated with the Zangle student information system. San Diego Unified has migrated to PowerSchool for the 2013-14 school year. Your ParentConnection login will not work with PowerSchool.

What do I need to login?

Parents need to create their own account on parent portal. You get to create your own unique ID and password for this account. In order to tie this account to your individual student, you must have the student's access ID and password to enter. iMIddle will hand out these access IDs and passwords at the Parent Tech Night trainings in September. Please be sure to attend a training in September for this important information.

Note: Parents and students can use the student's Active Directory Information to login. This is the same account information the students use to login to the school network computers.

I forgot my password. What should I do?

Powerschool has a "having trouble signing in" link directly on the PowerParent portal. You are encouraged to follow these steps first to reset your password. If you are still having trouble, you may come in to the front office.
